Become a Member

Georgia Midwifery Association holds quarterly meetings most often in the Atlanta Metro area. Membership is limited to midwives and students only.  GMA members must agree to abide by GMA bylaws and the Standards & Guidelines. If you need a copy of these please email gamidwiferyassociation@gmail.com

Rights of Members:

  1. GMA Midwives in good standing shall be entitled to one vote in all membership-wide ballots; shall be eligible for nominations to positions as officers; shall be eligible for membership on any committee and benefit from GMA's referral system.

  2. Apprentice Midwives are non-voting members and shall be eligible for membership on any committee with the exception of the Review and Mediation Committees.

Members must have and follow practice guidelines.  They must provide informed consent and agree to participate in peer review if a complaint is received or other issues arise.

Members attend not less than 50% or at least two (whichever is greater) of the total yearly meetings in-person or through video conference.

Dues

  • Practicing midwives - $45 per year

  • Students including those in primary under supervision status - $25 per year. (MUST have a GMA Preceptor or Sponsor to join!)

  • Retired Midwives - $25 per year

  • Dues are to be paid by the first meeting of the year, February 21, 2024.
